SPRING LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Overview
From the flow of the meet schedule, to the events offered, to the recognition at season's end, Tracklab's objective is to support coaches as they develop their athletes. This is why we allow coaches infield during competition - to help correct and reinforce form, techniques and methods, in real time. Our season begins in Spring with a 7-meet developmental series and ends with a developmental meet just for combined-event athletes. Tracklab is open to any athlete with or without club affiliation, and with or without USATF or AAU membership. Athletes may participate in as many or as few meets as they like; there is no minimum. Each meet has a developmental theme, and each meet builds on the next. Along the way, we encourage athletes to try new things by offering most USATF-sanctioned events and allowing unlimited entries.
Spring Honors
Tracklab is big on development but we offer recognition with development, too:
Program Scoring
Scoring system, individuals: athletes earn points based on the place of finish - 10 - first place; 8 - second place; 6 - third place; 5 - fourth place; 4 - fifth place; 3 - sixth place; 2 - seventh place; and, 1- eighth place.
Scoring system, clubs: Clubs earn points toward the club trophies; however, only the top 3 finishers per event can earn points for clubs. (For example, RunLong TC has 12 athletes in the boys' 9-10 800m run; 2 of the 12 boys place third and sixth. Both boys have earned individual points (6, 3 points) but only the third place finisher's points will count toward RunLong TC's club total.) This point-rule, along with grouping clubs by average number of entries, is meant to level the field for smaller but competitive clubs.
Club Divisions: Squad - averaging 5-24 athletes; Big - averaging 25-49 athletes; and, Mega - averaging 50+ athletes.
